- Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers
- Product tankers
- Offshore floating production vessels (FPSO)
- Floating gas infrastructure
BW Group’s predecessor companies are World-Wide Shipping and Bergesen d.y. ASA. In 2002, World-Wide Shipping, a privately-owned tanker and bulk shipping company founded in Hong Kong in 1955 by the late Sir Y.K. Pao, acquired Bergesen, Norway’s largest shipping company, founded in 1935. The combined group has been delivering energy and other vital commodities for more than 80 years.
BW Group employs more than 5,000 people including seafarers, and has offices in countries such as Singapore, Norway, Denmark, USA, China, Bermuda, India, the Philippines and Cyprus.
BW LPG is the world’s largest VLGC owner and operator, by number of VLGCs and by LPG carrying capacity. BW Offshore is the world’s second largest contractor with a fleet of 14 FPSOs and 1 FSO represented in all major oil regions world-wide. The company also operates additional 2 FPSOs. Hafnia, a merger of BW Tankers and Hafnia Tankers, is the world’s leading product tanker company, carrying cargoes such as naphtha, gasoline and jetoil. BW LNG manages the Group’s LNG shipping and Gas Solutions business. BW’s investment in WOMARrepresents the Group’s interests in the chemical tanker segment. BW VLCC can trace its roots in the crude oil transportation sector to the establishing of Sig. Bergesen d.y. & Co, a tanker business in Stavanger, Norway over 75 years ago. In April 2017, the BW VLCC fleet was committed for sale to DHT Holdings. Transition was completed in June 2017 and BW is a significant shareholder in DHT with a 33.5% holding. BW Dry Cargo looks for opportunities in the dry bulk segment.
BW conducts its operations, both ashore and on board the vessels we manage, in a way that protects the health and safety of all employees and other individuals, preserves the environment and avoids damage to ships and property.
